Living with Intention

For most of us, the culture we live in is fast-paced, with information, special offers and deadlines coming at us from all sides. Often, we are swept along by the flow and do not pause to consider where it is taking us. At the same time, life happens, and we must make adjustments and decisions on the fly and keep going. Sometimes it is years before we get a moment to stop and think about where we are going and why.

“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives – choice, not chance, determines your destiny.” — Aristotle

For many of us, such a moment was the pandemic. Suddenly, there was time for quiet reflection which led many to make significant adjustments to their lives, particularly recalibrating the balance between work and family life. Such reflection is the first step in living with intention. Taking the time to examine what is important to you is one of the most worthwhile things you can do for yourself and your family.

The exciting thing is that it is your life, and these are your choices to make. Each day offers a blank canvas of opportunity to alter course. Sometimes, though, we are faced with circumstances that make it difficult to make any changes at all. But, look closely and you may discover some ‘wiggle room’ – however small, it does not matter. Sometimes life is made up of many such small choices.

Coming soon – becoming self-aware. Discover the beliefs and values that are important to you and how, by aligning your life choices with those values, you can find peace of mind.
